Key Photograph Number 1

1. What was your planned intention for the initial series of photographs?

These are the photographs that i took which where going to be used in my DVD poster. My initial idea for this set of photographs was to find a photo with the right lighting. Also the right shot which made the photo seem more tense and realistic. I was going to turn off all the lights so you can just see the silhouette, but i turned a light on in the other room to shine on the side of the actors face, this made that you can see part of the gunman. I made the victim down the corridor blurry so that the victim isn't noticeable but  a mystery.

I chose this photo out of the many as I thought it was token in the right place and angle. The victim shows the expression that i was looking for and you can only see the silhouette of the victim.
This photo is suitable for my DVD case / poster as it shows that there will be action involved. Also shows danger as someones life is at risk.

The process i went through to edit this photo was that I cropped some of the edges to make the rule of third come in. As the victim was centred in the middle but I've managed to make her seem a bit to the right instead. Also I played bait through the tones and contrasts. I cropped the side bits that weren't needed to make it look more pristine. Then turned the picture to black and white which made the photo seem more mysterious. I also used auto tone, contrast and colour to fix give it the final touches.  I did all these changes as it made the photo seem more mysterious and dangerous. I loved the way the black and white made the image seem more interesting.

The the finished photo turned out really good, and i liked it very much. The lighting turned out really well just showing the side of the guns man face and leaving the victim in the background body darkened. The resolution of the picture turned out good as well as you can see all the details in the picture.
